Noosa: Elbow slapper whiting in the lower river and Weyba Creek. Flathead and whiting from the frying pan and Noosaville stretch. Trevally to 3kg and jacks feeding in the Sound were cruising the Gympie Terrace area. Further upriver, mangrove jacks, school jewfish, GT's and threadfin salmon were in pretty good numbers at Jew Hole near the mouth of Lake Cooroibah. There have been good catches of yellowbelly and saratoga at lake MacDonald and Borumba Dam.
Maroochydore: A few dart along the Maroochy North Shore. Schools of herring are moving through the lower river system. Tailor to 2kg from Twin Waters stretch and Godfrey's Road in the evenings. Trevally at the Twin Waters Weir area and in the South Channel . Flathead are feeding throughout the river system with good numbers of average size fish. Mud crabs up above Bli Bli and around Coolum Creek.
Kawana: Jew and tailor from Point Cartwright rocks, worth fishing dusk and overnight. Tailor and bream from the Kawana rock wall. A few whiting, jack and cod from Parrearra channel and McKenzies bridge. Trevally in the lower river around the herring schools. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.
Caloundra: The wind should ease back tomorrow and hopefully drop out on Thursday, so get ready for some offshore action! Flathead in the bar and opposite the coast guard jetty. Mangrove jack in Coochin Creek and the canals. Big whiting off the sand banks in the top end of the passage, particularly opposite the power boat club and Bells Creek mouth. Whiting, flathead and mangrove jack in Currimundi Lake and in Coochin Creek.
On the freshwater scene, Sue Fleming caught and released this absolute thumper saratoga at Lake MacDonald.
