Local Fishing Report: Sunday 2014-10-19

Offshore

Winds will be easterly 10 to 15 knots turning southeasterly 15 to 20 knots early in the morning. Seas will be below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres by early evening. Red throat emperor, tuskfish, moses perch and gold spotted wrasse on the Barwon Banks. A few quality snapper and tuna in Luguna Bay. There have been good catches the past few days of snapper, sweetlip, tuna and big cobia from North Reef.  Sweetlip, snapper, tuskies and big estuary cod on the Gneerings and off Caloundra 12 mile  Cobia, snapper and pearl perch at Caloundra Wide and 12 Mile.

Estuaries

Noosa: Flathead, bream, whiting and trevally at the Noosa River mouth. Flathead, bream and trevally along the Noosaville reach and in Woods Bay. Jack and bream in Weyba Creek. Flathead and bream along the Tewantin reach. Bass, bream and flathead from the everglades.

Maroochydore: Bream, flathead and school jew around Minti Street. Jacks and flathead in Petrie Creek. Big bream, jacks and flathead in the southern Channel. Bream to 36cm from Chambers Island. School jew, trevally to 2.5kg, tailor, a few good dusky flathead and the odd Milk fish in the Cod Hole. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Kawana: Dart and whiting along the beaches. Trevally along the rock walls at the mouth of the Mooloolah River and mud crabs in the canals. Bream and grass sweetlip from Point Cartwright. Flathead, trevally and bream from McKenzie's bridge area.

Caloundra: Flathead along the Boardwalk. Whiting from Golden and Bulcock beaches. Whiting and flathead at the mouth of Bells Creek. Mangrove jack around Pelican Waters Bridge.
