Local Fishing Report: Friday 2015-11-13

Offshore

Good conditions particularly early with winds east to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots turning northerly in the evening. Seas will be below 1 metre, decreasing to 0.5 metres during the morning, then increasing to around 1 metre during the afternoon. There's been a few nice pearl perch, gold spot cod, snapper, cobia, dolphin fish moses perch, venus tusk fish, grass sweetlip, sergeant baker and coral bream on North Reef. On the Gneerings were a few good sweetlip, snapper and tusk fish.

Estuaries

Noosa: Whiting, dart and jew over night in the gutters along Teewah and the southern beaches. There's been plenty of good quality flathead, bream, whiting and trevally at the Noosa River mouth and along the Noosaville reach and cale cale trevally are taking soft plastics at Tewantin. In Weyba Creek there were reports of good bream and a few whiting with the odd elbow slapper in amongst the schools. Mangrove jack to 54cm taken in Noosa Sound and between the lakes.

Maroochydore: Still schools of herring bait fish and a few good whiting around Chambers Island. A few good flathead and giant trevally and bream in the Cod Hole. Flathead and bream from the mouth of Eudlo Creek. Whiting in the lower reaches, with a few elbow slappers showing up. Mud crab in Eudlo creek and the Bli Bli reach. Several catches of mangrove jack in the upper reaches.

Kawana: Good beach conditions for dart and a few tailor along the beaches, trevally along the rock walls at the Mooloolah River mouth. Trevally, bream and gar from the boat mooring and in the Kawana canals. Flathead and whiting in the sand basin and trevally around Minyama Island. Trevally and flathead from Mountain Creek. Mangrove jack in the middle river around the snaggy banks.

Caloundra: Bream off the rocks at Kings Beach, queenfish on live bait around Military Jetty and the Boardwalk. Good flathead with some over the maximum size released and trevally from Military jetty area. Trevally a few mangrove jack showing up in the canals and creeks that feed into the passage. Catches of sand crabs in the passage and muddies in the creeks.
