Local Fishing Report: Monday 2015-09-07

Offshore

Looks like excellent  conditions early ahead of some northerly chop in the afternoon with variable about 10 knots becoming north to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas below 1 metre. There's been snapper, pearl perch, tuskfish, hussar, moses perch, yellowtail king, cobia and mulloway off Double Island Point. Pearl perch, snapper and amberjack on the Barwon Banks and snapper, amberjack and yellowtail king on the Hards and pearl perch and amberjack at Wide Caloundra, snapper at Caloundra 5 Mile and the NW Fairway Buoy, longtail tuna offshore from Moffat Beach.

Estuaries

Noosa: There's tailer and dart being caught along North Shore. A good size diamond trevally was caught and released this in the Woods Bay and a number of quality bream taken Yesterday at Munna Beach. Good whiting and a 65cm flathead at the river mouth and a 65cm flathead caught and released in Weyba Creek. Plenty of bream in the deep holes and around structure throughout the River. Trevally and solid flathead in Woods Bay.

Maroochydore: There's been dart and tailor in the gutters at Mudjimba. Trevally, good flathead and tailor along Oyster Bank Road. Bream, trevally, and a few chopper tailor feeding and flathead between the Cod Hole and Chambers Island. Flathead from the creek mouths and Bli Bli. Whiting from the lower river sand around Bli Bli. Mud crabs in the middle river with one buck going 18cm across carapace.

Kawana: Jew at dawn along Kawana Beach, tailor and school mackerel off the rocks at Point Cartwright and along the rock walls at the Mooloolah River mouth. Still a few good bream and golden trevally from the moorings, rock walls and lower river with better quality fish over night and dawn and dusk. Flathead, bream and gar in the Basin and flathead. Trevally and flathead in Mountain Creek reach.

Caloundra: Chopper tailor and flathead at the northern end of Bribie Island. Good quality flathead along the drop offs throughout the Passage. Whiting at the mouth of Coochin and Bells Creeks and it is worth trying for luderick along the Boardwalk and school jew near Pelican Waters Bridge. Flathead along the drop offs in the Passage and bream around Military and the Coastguard Jetties.
