Offshore

More choppy northerly conditions with winds will be northwest to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots. Seas 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to 1 metre during the morning, then increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres around midday. Better wind conditions tomorrow with a northerly 10 to 15 knots turning northeasterly during the afternoon. When the northerlies ease back try for sand crabs in the bay at Mooloolaba.

Quality cobia as well as snapper, moses perch, pearl perch, teraglin jewfish and venus tusk fish, yesterday on Cougar One charter to North Reef. Recently there's cobia, moses perch and tuskfish and a few quality sweetlip and snapper on the Outer Gneerings and Caloundra 9 and 12 mile reefs. The Barwon Banks has also had pearl perch, moses perch, hussar, bonito, snapper and also raised two striped marlin.

Estuaries

Noosa: The exposed beaches have been a bit windblown with the northerly winds, should be better tomorrow with lighter winds. Flathead, bream, whiting and trevally at the Noosa River mouth, flathead, bream and trevally along the Noosaville reach and in Woods Bay A 54cm mangrove jack taken in Noosa Sound. A few flathead, plenty of bream, whiting and moses perch in Weyba Creek. Flathead, bream and grunter bream along the Tewantin reach.

Maroochydore: Heaps of herring bait fish around Chambers Island on the start of the run in tide yesterday. A few good whiting in the surf at Coolum Beach. A few quality flathead, golden and giant trevally and bream in the Cod Hole. Dusky flathead and a few grunter bream from the mouth of Eudlo Creek. Whiting in the lower reaches. School jew from Bli Bli. Mud crab in Eudlo creek and the Bli Bli reach. Mangrove jack in Petrie Creek.

Kawana: Dart, whiting and a few chopper tailor along the beaches. Trevally, bream and gar from the boat mooring and in the Kawana canals. Flathead and whiting in the sand basin. Diamond and golden trevally around Minyama Island. Trevally and flathead from Mountain Creek. Mangrove jack in the middle river around the snaggy banks. Good catches of quality sand crabs in the lower reaches.

Caloundra: Dart and whiting along Dicky Beach and a few tailor at Wurtulla. Flathead at the start of the incoming tide on the Caloundra side of the bar. Good flathead and trevally from Military jetty area. Trevally a few mangrove jack showing up in the canals and creeks and bream along The Boardwalk. Catches of sand crabs in the passage and muddies in the creeks.
