Local Fishing Report: Friday 2018-06-08

Offshore

Best to stay inshore early today while conditions settle down, with winds southeasterly 15 to 20 knots decreasing to about 10 knots in the late evening with seas 1 to 2 metres, decreasing to 1 metre around midday. Tomorrow conditions ease right back with winds easterly 10 to 15 knots turning south to southeasterly below 10 knots during the morning and seas below 1 metre. Looking like great conditions all weekend with lighter winds a seas forecast, so keep your fingers crossed and as conditions are right be ready to go to Sunshine and North Reef where they have had coral trout, Spanish mackerel, yellow tail kingfish, snapper and grass sweetlip and also a few cobia. Snapper, pearl perch, nice tusk fish and cod from Caloundra 12 Mile. Snapper and sweetlip from Caloundra 5 mile. Jew and sweetlip from Currimundi. has had good snapper and cobia showing up. Spanish mackerel, cod, grass sweetlip, cobia and big tusk fish from the Barwon Banks.  Trekka 2 did a nine hour trip to Double Island Point last week where the crews caught tusk fish, pearl perch, snapper, gold band snapper, moses perch, nannygai and trevally."  Also Cougar One fished Double Island Point where they caught scarlet sea perch, pearl perch, gold band snapper and bagged out the boat on snapper for the first time this season.www.fishingnoosa.com.au/fishingoffshorenoosa.htm

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Flathead around Munna Pt and good golden trevally around the sand bags. Try for chopper tailor, whiting a few quality bream and trevally from the River mouth. Tailor, trevally and bream inWoods Bays. School jew and a jew went 91cm, threadfin salmon and good mud crabs in between the lakes.

Maroochydore: Get ready for a few good bream feeding around next Thursdays New Moon phase. School jew in the middle river with a few big fish taken in the Cod Hole. Big flathead caught and released in the lower reaches over the weekend. Dart and bream from Mudjimba Beach. Mud crabs in the middle river.

Mooloolaba: Dart in the gutter between Kawana and Wurtulla. Average size grass sweetlip and big bream off the rocks at Point Cartwright. Gar in the lower river. Quality bream feeding around the rocks walls and Jetties in the lower river. Golden and giant trevally in the middle river and canals. Its worth trying for some sand crabs around the high tide.

Caloundra: Bream off the rocks outcrops and headland between Dicky and Shelly Beaches. Tailor and bream for the NE tip of Bribie. Whiting, bream and flathead along the golden beach stretch. A few nice jew in the deeper holes throughout the passage.
