Local Fishing Report: Monday 2018-10-29

Offshore

Winds will be southeasterly 15 to 25 knots, with 1-2m seas and an increasing 1.5-2.5m of offshore swell. Snapper, cobia, yellow tail kingfish, long tail tuna, tusk fish from the Gneerings and Caloundra Wide. Snapper, pearl perch, cobia, jew and tusk fish from the Barwon Banks.  Double Island Point has consistently had good catches, there's been trout, red emperor, snapper, pearl perch, hussar, tuskfish, big cod and sweetlip  20 nm reefs, East of the Wide Bay Bar.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Good catches on Noosa River Fishing Safaris this week of bream, queenfish and trevally in Woods Bays. Flathead, bream, grunter and a few small jewies in the ski runs. Flathead, tailor, trevally and bream around the mouth. Mud crabs pretty well throughout all the systems and in Noosa Waters Canal.

Maroochydore: Flathead to 71cm, bream and tarwhine near the Cod Hole. Whiting feeding in the middle and lower river. Flathead to 58cm and bream from picnic point. Bream and dart from the sand bags. Mud crabs in the middle and upper river

Mooloolaba: Bream to 32cm and good golden trevally from the boat moorings. Bream and grass sweetlip from the Kawana Rock wall. Whiting and flathead from La Balsa Sand basin. Cod, whiting and grunter from the Twin Bridges. Mud crabs in the canals and middle river.

Caloundra: The Whiting ar ein good number south of Bells Creek. Flathead, whiting, grunter bream and bream from Golden Beach. Trevally and mangrove jack in Pelican Waters. Mud crabs in Coochin Creek.
