Offshore

Best to stay in sheltered waters today with conditions pretty rough with winds east to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots increasing to 20 to 25 knots in the late morning with seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres around midday. Tomorrow conditions ease back a little but still fairly choppy with winds East to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots and seas 1 to 2 metres, decreasing to 1 metre during the afternoon or evening. Looking like great conditions for the weekend with lighter winds a seas forecast, so keep your fingers crossed and when conditions improve be ready to go to Sunshine and North Reef where they have had coral trout, Spanish mackerel, yellow tail kingfish, snapper and grass sweetlip and also a few cobia. Snapper, pearl perch, nice tusk fish and cod from Caloundra 12 Mile. Snapper and sweetlip from Caloundra 5 mile. Jew and sweetlip from Currimundi. has had good snapper and cobia showing up. Spanish mackerel, cod, grass sweetlip, cobia and big tusk fish from the Barwon Banks. Trekka 2 did a nine hour trip to Double Island Point last Saturday where the crews caught tusk fish, pearl perch, snapper, gold band snapper, moses perch, nannygai and trevally."
