Conditions will be a bit choppy today with winds south to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots and seas will be 1 to 1.5 metres. Improving conditions tomorrow with winds southeasterly 10 to 15 knots with seas around 1 metre. Winds look like dropping out completely on Thursday, so be ready to go! There's been good catches of snapper including big knobbies to 7kg on Sunshine and North Reef as well as coral trout, Spanish mackerel, yellow tail kingfish and grass sweetlip and also a few cobia. Snapper, pearl perch, nice tusk fish and cod from local reefs out from Mooloolaba and Caloundra. Jew and sweetlip from Currimundi. has had jew, good snapper and cobia showing up. Spanish mackerel, cod, grass sweetlip, big cobia and big tusk fish from the Barwon Banks.
Estuaries and Beaches
Noosa: Luderick at the river mouth and lower river. Jew at night and flathead around Munna Pt, Goat and Sheep Islands. Trevally along the Tewantin Reach. Golden trevally in woods bays and the canals. Chopper tailor, jew at night and a few whiting in the lower river. Quality bream and trevally from the River mouth.
Maroochydore: Jew, tailor, dart and bream in the gutters between Mudjimba and Marcoola. Bream, flathead, dart and tailor from the river mouth. Jew and cod in the Cod Hole. Golden trevally from the southern channel. Jew at night from the Bli Bli stretch. Flathead, big whiting, soul and bream to 40cm from Channel Island.
Mooloolaba: Tailor and golden trevally in the lower river. Quality bream around McKenzies Bridge, the rock walls and the Kawana Boat Ramp. Average size grass sweetlip and big bream off the rocks at Point Cartwright. Gar in the La Balsa sand basin. Sand crabs in Kawana Waters.
Caloundra: Big bream and grass sweetlip off Moffat Head. Bream and tailor from Shelly Beach. Luderick, bream, golden trevally and flathead off the boardwalk. Bream, flathead and whiting along Golden beach. Trevally, cod, tailor and bream in Pelican Waters Canal.
