Local Fishing Report: Tuesday 2018-11-13

Offshore

More choppy conditions as winds will be southeasterly 15 to 20 knots with seas, 1 to 1.5 metres. Tomorrow, much improved conditions for offshore waters with winds southeasterly 10 to 15 knots decreasing to about 10 knots during the morning and seas around 1 metre.  Trekka 2 skipper Mitch Bertacchini took his crew out Sunday morning to a couple of the local reefs where they caught venus tusk fish, spangled emperor, pearl perch, snapper, grass emperor and gold spot cod." www.fishingnoosa.com.au/fishingoffshorenoosa.htm Snapper, coral trout, moses perch and maori cod from Sunshine Reef. Snapper, cobia, as well as good yellow tail kingfish, long tail tuna, tusk fish from the Gneerings and Caloundra Wide. Snapper, pearl perch, cobia, jew and tusk fish from the Barwon Banks. Double Island Point is fishing well for quality red emperor, large mouth nannygai, spangled emperor, cobia, big gold spot cod, tusk fish and a heap of quality snapper.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Good flathead, few grunter bream and bream from the river mouth. Flathead, bream, grunter and a few jew in the ski runs. Flathead, trevally, jacks and whiting in Woods Bays. Mud crabs pretty well throughout all the systems and in Noosa Waters Canal.

Maroochydore: Golden and giant trevally and jew released recently around the motorway bridge pylons. Flathead to 60cm from Chambers Island and Picnic Point. Cod, bream, grunter and tailor from Bli Bli. Whiting from Minti Street and the north shore. It's worth putting the crab pots and try your luck for a few keeper mud crabs.

Mooloolaba: Bream, golden trevally, pike and gar from the boat moorings. Whiting and flathead from La Balsa Sand basin. Cod, flathead and bream from the Twin Bridges. Whiting from the entrance to Mountain Creek. Mud crabs in the canals and middle river.

Caloundra: There have been some good catches of grunter bream, bream, flathead and trevally from the creeks that feed into the Pumicestone Passage, this week. The Flathead, whiting and bream from Golden Beach. Trevally and mangrove jack in Pelican Waters and in the creeks that flow into the Passage. Mud crabs in Coochin Creek.
