Conditions choppy particularly out wide today and rough this evening with winds south to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots, reaching up to 25 knots offshore south of Maroochydore in the evening and seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres during the morning. Similar conditions tomorrow with a southeasterly 15 to 20 knots and seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres during the morning. Sunshine Reef has also had nice coral trout and grass sweetlip. A few cobia, quality Spanish mackerel, Long tail tuna out from Sunshine Reef, off Mooloolaba, Coolum and Caloundra. Out on the reefs off Double Island catches of yellowfin tuna, Spanish mackerel, pearlies, jew cobia, red emperor, scarlet sea perch, hussar and gold spot wrasse and mahi mahi.
Estuaries and Beaches
Noosa: Tonight's New Moon should have the fish feeding right through the week, hopefully a few good bream, trevally and tailor on the bite. Flathead around Munna Pt and nice golden trevally around the sand bags. Good whiting a few good bream and trevally from the River mouth and lower river. A few trevally in Woods bays. Plenty of bream throughout the river Mud crabs about throughout the river.
Maroochydore: A few big prawns schooling and trevally and jew at night in the Cod Hole. Flathead around Chambers Island and Picnic Point. Bream and nice golden trevally from the river mouth. Heaps of mud crabs throughout the river.
Mooloolaba: Good size bream around the rocks walls and Jetties in the lower river. Trevally and flathead from La Balsa Basin. Mud crabs and some quality flathead in the creeks and canals.
Caloundra: Bream and the odd chopper tailor feeding around the bar and throughout the passage. Whiting, bream and flathead along the golden beach stretch. Muddies in the creeks.
