Local Fishing Report: Monday 2019-02-25

Offshore

Winds will be south to southeasterly 25 to 30 knots, reaching up to 35 knots at time, with 4-5m seas and an increasing 3-4m of south to southeasterly swell offshore. Steer well clear of coastal bars and offshore waters until things settle down.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Flathead in Woods Bay. Plenty of quality mud crabs on the move throughout the river. Mangrove jack, cod and flathead inWeyba Creek. Jacks between the lakes.

Maroochydore: Mangrove jack in the southern channel and in Twin waters canals. Flathead, grunter and bream in Petrie Creek. Mud crabs throughout the river with several good specimens potted in Maroochy Waters canal, opposite Chambers Island and in the southern channel. 

Mooloolaba: Bream and cod from the boat moorings. Jacks and flathead in Mountain Creek. Muddies throughout the Mooloolah River, particularly in the Kawana and Mooloolah canals. 

Caloundra: Mud crabs on the mud bars and mangrove fringes of the passage. Flathead and bream in Bell's Creek. Mangrove jack, cod, bream and trevally in Pelican Waters canals. 

Lachlan Burford Bucks

Lachlan Burford had his pots out on friday in the southern channel and was rewarded with two solid bucks.
