Local Fishing Report: Monday 2019-07-29

Offshore: Absolute perfect offshore conditions today with variable winds at about 10 knots. Inshore winds south to southwesterly about 10 knots in the morning, and northeasterly about 10 knots in the afternoon, seas below 0.5m and East to southeasterly swell around 1 metre. Similar beautiful offshore conditiond tomorrow with winds variable below 10 knots becoming south to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots during the day and seas below 1 metre. Fishing offshore Noosa fished Sunshine Reef on Saturday for moses perch, grass emperor, snapper, tusk fish, painted sweetlip and spangled emperor. Wild Thing 2 fished Double Island Point for cobia, jewfish, pearl perch, tusk fish, yellowtail kingfish and ironjaw. Deep End Fishing Charters out of Mooloolaba have had good trips to local reefs for plenty of quality snapper, grassy sweetlip, pearlies, tusk fish and cobia. Grass sweetlip, cod and qualitysnapper from the Gneerings. Good quality snapper, pearl perch and tusk fish from the Banks.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Try for luderick at the rocks inside the river mouth. Double Island Point and Teewah Beach gutters have been producing greenback tailor to 3.5kg. Bream and flathead and plenty of diamond trevally taken throughout the lower river and up around Tewantin. Good quality Golden and Diamond Trevally in Woods Bays.

Maroochydore: Several big giant trevally caught near the Cod Hole. Bream and whiting in the mouth of Eudlo Creek as well as tailor and trevally from Cod Hole. Quality bream upstream and throughout the lower river. Flathead to 78cm released from the Creek mouths and lower river.

Mooloolaba: Tailor, bream and worth a try for luderick off the rock walls. A few gar fish around the moorings on the incoming tide. Bream and several dusky flathead and golden trevally from the boat moorings and canals. Cod and flathead from the twin bridges.

Caloundra: Luderick and bream off the Boardwalk. Cod and flathead in Coochin Creek. Bream in the deeper holes and channels of the passage. School jew in the deeper holes of the passage. Bream and trevally in Pelican Waters. Small snapper and sweetlip off the rocky headlands.
