Local Fishing Report: Saturday 2019-09-14

Offshore: Great offshore today have ease right back,with winds, southeasterly 10 to 15 knots becoming variable about 10 knots in the morning, then tending north to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon. Inshore winds tending south to southwesterly about 10 knots in the early morning with seas around 1 metre. Tomorrow conditions will be excellent with winds southeasterly about 10 knots becoming northeasterly during the afternoon. Inshore winds south to southwesterly below 10 knots in the early morning and seas below 1 metre. So be ready to go offshore right through into the weekend and with a beautiful Full Moon as well. Go for Spanish mackerel from Halls Reef. North Reef has had quality Maori cod, snapper, Moses perch and Venus tusk fish. Chardon's Reef has had for nice snapper, Maori cod and Moses perch. Sunshine Reef's also had good snapper, tusk fish, Moses perch, bonito, longtail tuna, grass emperor and school mackerel. School mackerel from Raper Shoal. Grass sweetlip, tusk fish, queenfish and tailor from Old Women Island. Pearl perch, snapper, tusk fish from Caloundra 12 mile.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: With todays Full Moon, try for jew and tailor off the beaches and headlands. Few good size whiting in the lower river. Trevally flathead and a queenies in Woods Bays. Big flathead opposite Gympie Terrace. Tewantin and in between the lakes are producing queenfish, trevally,flathead and school jew.

Maroochydore: Tailor and jew over night from Yaroomba and Marcoola Beach. Good flathead, whiting and bream around the river mouth. Whiting on the incoming tide around ths sand banks in the lower river. Flathead and a few good trevally in the middle reaches of the river. Mangrove jack and school jew in the middle and upper river. Flathead in Petrie Creek.

Mooloolaba: Have a fish on Pt Cartwright for jew, tailor and small snapper. Bream, dusky flathead and golden trevally from the boat moorings and canals. Cod, bream and flathead from the twin bridges. Mangrove jack and cod from the rock bars in the upper river.

Caloundra: Bream and flathead in Coochin Creek. Whiting from Golden Beach stretch. Bream and trevally in Pelican Waters. Be ready for the Caloundra Power Club's 'Take A Kid Fishing Day' to be held on Sunday the 29th of September. For further Information contact Terry Graham on 0408190569.

Glens Daughter

Glen Gramenz fishing with his Daughter, caught several good flattys the Maroochy River mouth a couple of days ago. He got 4 in total and another 30 cm whiting and 29 cm bream both near the dreadger on the change of tide last night .
