Local Fishing Report: Wednesday 2019-09-25

Offshore: Winds will be East to southeast at 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore north of Maroochydore in the early morning. Winds turning east to northeast in the late afternoon, with seas around 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to 1 metre during the morning. Sunshine Reef had good snapper, tusk fish, Moses perch, bonito, longtail tuna, grass emperor and school mackerel. Grass sweetlip and small snapper from Old Women Island. Long tail tuna, cod, sweetlip and tusk fish from Coolum. Pearl perch, snapper, tusk fish from Caloundra 12 mile. Quality snapper from the Blinker.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Golden, diamond, tealeaf and giant trevally throughout the lower system. Quality whiting from Munna Point and the frying pan. A 90cm Diamond trevally was caught and released from Woods Bays (www.fishingnoosa.com.au). Mangrove jack and big flathead from the Tewantin Stretch. Flathead, jacks and school jew inbetween the lakes.

Maroochydore: Whiting throughout the lower river. Big trevally to 60cm from the cod hole and in Maroochy Waters Canal. Mangrove jack in the creeks and upper river. Trevally and flathead in Eudlo Creek.

Mooloolaba: Whiting from Mountain Creek and brightwater reach. Bream, dusky flathead and trevally from the boat moorings. Cod, bream and flathead from the twin bridges. Mangrove jack, cod, flathead and trevally in Mooloolaba Canals.

Caloundra: Cod, jack and flathead in Coochin Creek. Big flathead between the bar and golden beach. Whiting along the Golden Beach stretch. Trevally, cod and mangrove jack in Pelican Waters.
