Local Fishing Report: Wednesday 12/12/2012

Noosa: Try for a few mackerel in Luguna Bay, lighter wind forecast for the weekend. Jew off the rocks at Double Island Point. Whiting and dart off Teewah Beach before the strong winds. Whiting, flathead and trevally in Weyba Creek. Flathead and trevally from the frying pan. Whiting and trevally in Woods bays.
Maroochydore: The strong Southerly winds will continue until tomorrow, with lighter winds for the weekend, so stick to sheltered water still then. Big whiting in Maroochy Waters Canals and a few to 35cm from the lower river. Bream to 36cm from Bli Bli bridge and the Creeks. Jack overnight from Bli Bli and Petrie Creek.
Kawana: A few whiting along Kawana Beach. Dart and bream near Currimundi Beach. Sand crabs in the lower river. Whiting and flathead in the basin. Bream, trevally and jack from the rock walls. Big bream on soft plastics around the moorings.
Caloundra: Try for mackerel on the close in Caloundra reefs when the wind eases back. Trevally, a few queenies and jack in the Pelican Waters Canals. Queenfish, golden trevally and flathead in the channel south of Bells. Whiting in the top end of the Passage.

Local Fishing Report: Tuesday 11/12/2012

Noosa: Try for a few mackerel in Luguna Bay. Jew off the rocks at Double Island Point and whiting and dart off Teewah Beach before the strong winds. Whiting, flathead and trevally in Weyba Creek. Flathead and trevally from the frying pan. Whiting and trevally in Woods bays. Jack and the odd barra, (remember it is closed season on barra at present) between the lakes.

Maroochydore: The strong Southerly winds will continue until Friday, so stick to sheltered waters for fishing Big whiting in Maroochy Waters Canals and a few to 35cm from the lower river. Flathead and bream from Bli Bli bridge and the Creeks. Jack overnight from Bli Bli and Petrie Creek.

Kawana: A few whiting along Kawana Beach. Dart and bream near Currimundi Beach. Whiting and flathead in the basin. Bream, trevally and jack from the rock walls. Try for jack, from Parrearra channel. Big bream on soft plastics around the moorings.

Noosa: Snapper and Spanish and spotty mackerel from Sunshine Reef. Gold spot and Maori Cod from North Reef. Snapper and jew off the rocks at Double Island Point. Whiting, flathead and trevally in Weyba Creek. Flathead and trevally from the frying pan. Whiting and trevally in Woods bays. Jacks between the lakes.

Maroochydore: Spotty and Spanish mackerel around the 3-5kg on trolled pilchards between Murphy's and Old Women Island. Whiting to 40cm in Maroochy Waters Canals and a few to 35cm from the lower river. Flathead and bream from Bli Bli bridge and the Creeks. Jacks overnight from Bli Bli and Petrie Creek.

Kawana: Tusk fish, snapper to 4kg, amberjack to 5kg and red throat from the Banks. A few whiting along Kawana Beach. Dart and bream near Currimundi Beach. Whiting and flathead in the basin. Bream, trevally and jacks from the rock walls. Jacks, from Parrearra channel. Bream to 35cm on soft plastics around the moorings.

Caloundra: Flathead and jacks from the coast guard jetty. Trevally, queenfish and jacks in the Pelican Waters Canals. Queenfish, golden trevally and flathead in the channel south of Bells. Whiting between the bar and Bells on the sand bars. Sand crabs in the northern passage and mud crabs in the creeks.
