Local Fishing Report: Friday 30/11/2012

Noosa: Snapper on the Coffees, cobia, pearl perch, cod and tusk fish from North Reef. Snapper, sweetlip and cobia on Jew Shoal. Quality dart and a few whiting on dusk off the beaches north of Peregian. Whiting and bream in Weyba Creek. Flathead and tailor from the frying pan. Jacks in the sound and Eenie Creek Bridge. Whiting and a 5.5kg giant herring caught along the Tewantin stretch. A few decent yellow belly at Lake MacDonald.

Maroochydore: Spotty and Spanish mackerel from Coolum Reef and Currimundi Reef. A few tailor from the river mouth over night. Whiting in Maroochy Waters Canals and a few to 30cm from Goat Island and Black Bank. Flathead from Bli Bli bridge and Petrie Creek mouth. Jacks in Petrie Creek and from above Bli Bli bridge. Mud crabs in Eudlo Creek.

Kawana: Snapper, Cobia and sweetlip from Wide Currimundi Reef. Cobia to 9.5kg, mackerel and snapper from Murphy's Reef. A few whiting and dart along the southern beaches. Bream and golden trevally from the rock walls. Golden trevally along La Balsa and Minyama Island. Jacks, cod and bream from Parrearra Weir. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Caloundra: Spanish mackerel to 8kg and a few big 4kg spotty mackerel from the 5 mile. Whiting, flathead and jacks in Currimundi Creek. Flathead from the drop offs between the bar and Bell's Creek entrance. Mangrove jack in Coochin Creek and the canals. Big whiting from the mouths of Bell's Creek and opposite Golden beach.

Schools of spotty and Spanish mackerel are moving into the water off the Sunshine Coast with average catch between Noosa and Caloundra. Andy Gunn caught these two fish on pilchards on Wide Currimundi reef this week.
