Local Fishing Report: Monday 26/11/2012

Noosa: A 10 kg red emperor was taken on one of the local reefs and quality barra was caught and released in the lower Noosa river over the weekend. Whiting, bream, flathead and cod in Weyba Creek. Flathead to 74cm from the frying pan and Noosaville stretch. Trevally from Sheraton Bridge and jacks in the sound. Whiting and a 5.5kg giant herring caught along the Tewantin stretch. A few decent yellowbelly at Lake MacDonald.

Maroochydore: good catches of bully mullet around Chambers Island as well as a school of huge diamond scale mullet A few tailor from the river mouth over night. Whiting in Maroochy Waters Canals and a few to 30cm from Goat Island and Black Bank. Flathead from Bli Bli bridge and Petrie Creek mouth. Jacks to 40cm in Petrie Creek and to 55cm from Bli Bli. . Mud crabs in Eudlo Creek.

Kawana: Light to moderate northerly winds for most of the week, means get out early for good results on local reefs. Quality snapper on Currimundi on Sunday morning and cobia to 9.5kg from Murphy's Reef. Jew at night and a few whiting and dart during the day along the Kawana Stretch. Tailor, bream and flathead from the rock walls. Golden trevally along La Balsa and Minyama Island. Jacks, cod and bream from Parrearra Weir. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Caloundra: Spotty mackerel from the NW fairway beacon and try for spanish mackerel from the Caloundra 9 mile. Flathead from the drop offs between the bar and Bell's Creek entrance on drifted pilchards. Mangrove jack in Coochin Creek and the canals. Big whiting to 40cm from the mouths of Bell's Creek and opposite Golden beach.

Az, (dressed in pink) had his Buck's Party aboard a BBQ Pontoon Boat in the upper Maroochy River and the boys caught a few bream and whiting to boot.
