Noosa: Get out early ahead of the afternoon sea breeze on local reefs for a few reefies and pelagic, like cobia to 7kg. Jew to 9kg and tailor to 4kg at Double Island Point overnight. Flathead, bream and whiting from the frying pan and Noosaville stretch. Mangrove jack and threadfin salmon to 5kg around Lake Cootharaba. Trevally to 3kg and jacks in the Sound.
Maroochydore: With today’s New moon the fish will be feeding and who knows what the eclipse might do to the feeding activity, so, it will be worth trying for jew at the Cod Hole, the river mouth and along North Shore particularly overnight. Good trevally at the Twin waters Weir, yesterday. Jacks, jew, cod and bream in the Cod Hole area. Flathead above Bli Bli bridge. Whiting in the Maroochy Waters Canal. Been a few mud crabs up above Bli Bli and around Coolum Creek.
Kawana: Have to get out early ahead of the afternoon sea breeze and try offshore for snapper and cobia. Good flathead and estuary cod on trolled hard bodied lures along Kawana Way reach. Good whiting and a few crabs in Mountain Creek and around McKenzie’s Bridge.
Caloundra: Flathead and bream in the Blue Hole. There’s been a few good trevally in the 1.5 kg range in Pelican Waters Canals. Mangrove jack in Coochin Creek. Whiting off the sand banks in the top end of the passage, particularly opposite the power boat club. Big whiting and jacks in lake Currimundi. Worth putting the pots in the creeks for a few mud crabs.
