Local Fishing Report: Saturday 2013-11-30

Offshore

With strong winds and large seas forecast, it would be unsafe to attempt offshore fishing today.

Estuary's:

Noosa: Flathead, big eye trevally and chopper tailor on top of the tide between the River mouth and Woods Bay. Mangrove jack in Lake Cooroibah. Whiting up to 40cm, flathead, the odd tailor and a few mulloway from the lower river. Flathead throughout the Noosa River and up to 60cm in Weyba Creek.

Maroochydore: Tailor to 42cm around Yinni Street. Sand and mud crabs in the middle river. School duskies from the creek mouths. Whiting to 30cm off Chambers Island. Jack throughout the middle and upper river.

Kawana: Bream and a few golden trevally from the moorings. bream and trevally on top of the tide in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah. Dart, whiting and a few bream along the beaches also a few flathead and whiting at Wurtulla. Trevally, jacks and cod around McKenzies Bridge area. A few sand crabs in the lower river. Jack and whiting in the canals and mud crabs in the deep holes in the upper reaches.

Caloundra: Target mangrove jack, flathead and trevally in Coochin Creek. Flathead around Military Jetty. Sand crabs in the channels. Flathead on the drop offs in the northern end of the passage. Mangrove jack in the canals. Whiting around the Power Boat Club.

The warm water temps have had the Dolphin fish move onto the banks chasing bait schools. This fish was taken on a Top Catch Charter.
