Local Fishing Report: Sunday 2013-12-01

Offshore

Southeasterly 20 to 25 knots. The strong winds and big seas forecast, it would be wise to check conditions and stay in sheltered waters today and it looks like the wind will ease further tomorrow. .

Estuary's:

Noosa: Flathead, bream, whiting, trevally and jew at the Noosa River mouth, flathead and around the Frying Pan. bream, Whiting and mangrove jack in Weyba Creek and flathead, bream and school jew along the Tewantin reach. Mangrove jack in Lake Cooroibah.

Maroochydore: Bream, flathead, dart and tarwhine along Mudjimba and Marcoola Beaches. Plenty of average flathead from the creek mouths. Whiting to 30cm off Chambers Island. Sand and mud crabs and mangrove jack throughout the middle and upper river.

Kawana: Dart and whiting along the beaches and trevally and bream in the upper reaches of the Mooloolah River. Bream and a few golden trevally from the mooring. Trevally, jacks and cod around McKenzies Bridge area. A few sand crabs in the lower river. Mud crabs in the deep holes in the upper reaches.

Caloundra: Bream and dart near the entrance to Currimundi Lake and whiting off the tip of Bribie Island and at Bells Creek mouth. Try for flathead around the Coastguard Jetty and Bulcock Beach and trevally and tarpon on small surface lures in the canals. Target mangrove jack, flathead and trevally in Coochin Creek and in the canals. Sand crabs in the channels.
