Could be a bit of chop around this afternoon with southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore in the morning. Winds turning easterly in the late evening. Seas 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre around midday. Yesterday Massoud’s Reef produced quality pearl perch and Maori cod. Good snapper, sweetlip and parrot from the Blinker. Snapper, Spanish mackerel and tusk fish from Sunshine Beach. Tusk fish, snapper, Maori Cod from the Caloundra 9 mile.
Noosa: Jew feeding around the headlands in the national park and along Teewah Beach. Good catches of bream, flathead, whiting and trevally at the Noosa River mouth. Whiting along the Noosaville stretch. Quality bream from the Marina, in the channel at Tewantin and in Lake Cooroibah.
Maroochydore: Sand crabs are moving in the big tides in the lower river. Whiting to 35cm from the black banks, Chambers Island and plenty of bream 25 to 30 cm throughout. Bream and small dusky flathead in Petie Creek. Trevally to 55cm from the cod hole. Mud crabs still in the middle river and the bottom end of Chambers Island.
Kawana: Big bream to 37cm around the mooring on the incoming tide over night. Bream and a few tailor around the high tide from the rock wall. Whiting and flathead in sand basin. Sand crabs in the lower river and mud crabs in the canals and around Kawana Way.
Caloundra: Squid off the rocky headland at Moffat and Kings Beaches. A few trevally on the high tide in Pelican Waters. Bream and whiting on the banks opposite Golden Beach. Flathead and whiting in Bells Creek. Bream and whiting in the lower end of Currimundi Lake.
