Local Fishing Report: Friday 2014-10-31


Strong Wind Warning for today in Sunshine Coast Waters with winds northerly 15 to 25 knots, increasing to 25 to 30 knots during the afternoon and evening. Seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres around midday. Been some good quality fish on local rees in the past few days with big tusk fish and amberjack on Chardon’s reef


Noosa: Whiting on Main Beach and along Teewah Beach. Flathead cale cale and golden trevally and whiting at the Noosa River mouth. Flathead, whiting, tailor and trevally in Woods Bay. Jacks and trevally in Weyba Creek. A few jacks showing up in the lower river between the lakes.

Maroochydore: Yesterday there were queenfish an bream to 39cm from around the Twin Waters area, also heaps of chopper tailor schooling up and flathead from around the Cod Hole. Trevally, jacks and school jew over night from Bli Bli and the Cod Hole. Jacks and flathead in Petrie Creek. Whiting off Chambers Island, from Cotton Tree and Picnic Point. Flathead in Maroochy Waters. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Kawana: Whiting and dart along Kawana and Warana Beaches. Big flathead released and a few trevally along La Balsa wall. Flathead and mangrove jack in Kawana Canals and in Mountain Creek. Jacks in lake Kawana. Trevally around McKenzies Bridge. Plenty of bream from the moorings.

Caloundra: Flathead and bream along the Boardwalk. Whiting off the sand banks in the top end of the Passage, from the mouth of Bells Creek and along Golden Beach. Flathead at the mouth of Bells Creek. Mangrove jack and schools of trevally around Pelican Waters Bridge and Canals. Flathead at the mouth of Pelican Waters.
