Local Fishing Report: Monday 2014-11-03

Offshore

Winds settling back to east to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots.  Seas 1.5 to 2metres, decreasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning. Much better conditions tomorrow with winds easing back to 10 to 15 knots and seas to 1m! Before the wind freshened there were mahi mahi on the Barwon Banks and yellowtail king and school mackerel on Currimundi Reef.

Estuaries

Noosa: Flathead, trevally and whiting at the Noosa River mouth. Flathead, whiting, tailor and trevally in Woods Bay. Jacks and trevally in Weyba Creek. A few jacks in between the lakes and at the entrance to the Marina and between Lakes Cooroibah and Cootharaba.

Maroochydore: Plenty of herring baitfish schooling up. Queenfish and bream from around the Twin Waters area. Chopper tailor, flathead, tarpon, trevally and estuary cod in the Cod Hole. School jew over night from upper Bli Bli. Whiting off Chambers Island, from Cotton Tree and Picnic Point. Flathead in the creek mouths. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Kawana: Dart along the beaches, trevally in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah River. Whiting, jack and grunter bream in Currimundi Lake. Flathead and mangrove jack in Kawana Canals and in Mountain Creek. Jacks in lake Kawana. Trevally around McKenzies Bridge. Plenty of bream from the moorings..

Caloundra: Squid off the rocks at Moffat, Kings and Shelly Beaches, flathead, whiting and trevally near the entrance to Currimundi Lake. Whiting on the NE tip of Bribie Island and off Golden Beach. Also a few flathead opposite the power boat club and the mouth of Bells Creek. Mangrove jack in Pelican Waters, Bells and Coochin Creeks.
