Local Fishing Report: Saturday 2014-12-27

Offshore

Conditions are okay, could be a little choppy with east to northeasterly about 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon and seas below 1 metre. There have been some good catches of spotty and Spanish mackerel right along the coast off Coolum and at Sunshine Reef. The crew on Top Catch Charters have been fishing Caloundra 12 Mile and the Banks for spanish mackerel, spotted mackerel and mahi mahi on the surface, with parrot and sweetlip on the bottom.  Barwon Banks produced quality maori cod, mahi mahi, snapper and red throat emperor. Murphys produced good hussar, moses perch, mulloway and cobia.
