Local Fishing Report: Tuesday 2014-09-02


Unsafe offshore boating conditions today, stick to the rivers.


Noosa: Good catches of bream, flathead, whiting, trevally and tailor at the Noosa River mouth. Bream, whiting, flathead and moses perch in Weyba Creek. Trevally and flathead in Woods Bays. Grunter, school jew and flathead from the Tewantin stretch.

Maroochydore: Bream to 30cm, quality dusky flathead and whiting to 37cm in the lower river, mainly around Goat & channel Islands. Flathead from Eudlo & Petrie Creek mouths and Picnic Point. Mud crabs still in the middle and lower river at present.

Kawana: Big bream around the mooring on the incoming tide over night. Bream and a few tailor around the high tide from the rock wall. Whiting and flathead in sand basin. Mud crabs in the canals and around Kawana Way.

Caloundra: Bream and whiting on the banks opposite Golden Beach. Whiting opposite the power boat club, at Bells Creek mouth and near Military Jetty. Flathead are taking lures on most of the banks throughout the northern end of the passage. Grunter bream at the mouth of Coochin Creek.

Ben French was fishing around Goat Island when he caught several good flathead.
