Local Fishing Report: Tuesday 2014-11-25

Offshore

Better conditions with northeasterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas decreasing to below 1 metre during the morning. There‚Äôs been  Dolphin Fish, cobia and big moses perch on North Reef. Spanish and spotty Mackeral on Sunshine Reef and out from the national park. Snapper, sweetlip, maori cod and tusk fish have been taken from the Gneerings. School and spotty mackerel from Point Cartwright and Raper Shoal. Top Catch Charters caught sweetlip, tusk fish and snapper at the Caloundra 9nm. School mackerel and cobia from Coolum reef.

Estuaries

Noosa: Flathead to 60cm, bream, big whiting and trevally near the river mouth and in the back of Noosa Sound. Bream and flathead from Noosaville and Tewantin. Good quality whiting up to 34cm in the Frying Pan and opposite Munna Point and in Lake Cooroibah. Flathead and estuary cod in Weyba Creek. Mangrove jack to 55cm on Sunday night in between the lakes and downstream to the Ferry Crossing.

Maroochydore: Trevally in the cod hole 2hrs either side of high tide. Jacks in Petrie Creek and Twin Waters Canal. Flathead and bream from Cotton Tree and around Chambers Island. Whiting up to 40cm in the lower river. Good reports of mud crabs in the middle and upper reaches.

Kawana: Dart and whiting along the beaches, bream, flathead and whiting in the Mooloolah River. Bream with the bigger fish at night around the moorings and whiting in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah River. Flathead and mangrove jack in Kawana Canals and in Mountain Creek. Muddies on the move in the canal system.

Caloundra: Bream at dawn and dusk at Moffat Beach. A few flathead on live bait along the Boardwalk and in the Pelican Waters Canal. Whiting, mangrove jack and trevally opposite the Power Boat Club and at Bells Creek mouth. A few sand and mud crabs throughout Pumicestone Passage and in the creeks.
