Offshore

More reasonable conditions with winds northeasterly 10 to 15 knots, seas below 1 metre, increasing to around 1 metre by early evening. Mulloway and Spanish mackerel and tusk fish on North Reef. Spanish and spotty Mackeral on Sunshine Reef and out from the national park. Snapper, sweetlip, maori cod and tusk fish have been taken from the Gneerings. School and spotty mackerel from Raper Shoal, the 5 mile, off Kings Beach, Arkwright Shoal and old women island.

Estuaries

Noosa: Big flathead, tailor to 61cm, bream, big whiting and trevally near the river mouth. Jack and big eyed trevally in Woods Bays. Bream and flathead from Noosaville and Tewantin. Good quality whiting up in the Frying Pan and opposite Munna Point and in the entrance to Lake Cooroibah. Mangrove jack in between the lakes from the Noosaville reach to Lake Cootharaba.

Maroochydore: Giant, golden trevally to 59cm and big eye trevally in the Cod hole. Big diamond scale mullet to 5kg have been caught in cast nets between Chambers Island and Picnic Point. Flathead, whiting, tailor and bream from Picnic Point. Whiting up to 40cm and giant herring in the lower and middle river. Mud crabs in the deeper channel of the middle and upper reaches.

Kawana: Dart and whiting along the beaches, bream, flathead and whiting in the Mooloolah River. Bream with the bigger fish at night around the moorings and whiting in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah River. Flathead and mangrove jack in Kawana Canals and in Mountain Creek. Muddies on the move in the canal system.

Caloundra: Dart and whiting along the beaches and bream at dawn and dusk at Moffat Beach. Flathead, bream and golden trevally off the Boardwalk. Try for trevally, tarpon and jack in Pelican Waters Canal. Whiting, mangrove jack and trevally opposite the Power Boat Club and at Bells Creek mouth. A few sand and mud crabs throughout Pumicestone Passage and in the creeks.
