Rough conditions again today, so be prepared to stay in sheltered waters, with winds easterly 20 to 25 knots and seas 1.5 to 2 metres. When conditions improve possibly late saturday or Sunday try at the Jew Shoal where there's been 4kg cobia and the 8kg yellowfin tuna and spanish mackerel at the Mooloolaba Blinker. Coral trout, snapper and moses perch at Caloundra 12 Mile and snapper and tuskfish on Murphys Reef.
Noosa: Several catches of quality flathead in the 60cm+ range and golden trevally to 70cm around the river mouth. Still the odd few tailor and quality whiting in the lower river. Quality trevally 40 and 60cm and flathead in Woods Bay. A few big flathead and still plenty of bream in Weyba Creek. Mangrove jack in the deep holes in Noosa Sound and Woods Bay. A few sand crabs in the lower river and mud crabs in the Lakes.
Maroochydore: There's been good catches of dart early morning and the odd tailor along on Marcoola Beach and Maroochy North Shore. Trevally to 65cm and the odd tailor bream in the Cod Hole. Mangrove jack from the rocks bars in Petrie Creek. Good catches of big flathead throughout the river at present. Mud crabs in the upper reaches and a few sand crabs in the lower river. Whiting along the Twin Water stretch on high tide.
Kawana: Bream along the rock walls at the Mooloolah River mouth, flathead and whiting in the lower reaches. Try for mangrove jack around the rock walls and bridges. A few good size whiting showing up around Mountain Creek. Good catches of quality sand crabs in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah River
Caloundra: Good flathead on both sides of Caloundra Bar and on the drop offs and sand banks in the top end of the Passage. Whiting on the banks off Golden Beach. Bream and a few mangrove jack showing up in the canals and a few mangrove jack on live bait and lures in Bells Creek. Whiting and flathead in Coochin Creek. Some good catches of sand crabs in the passage and muddies in the creeks.
Robert Whiting does it again with a 60 odd cm giant trevally taken in the Cod Hole.
