Local Fishing Report: Saturday 2018-12-01

Pretty good conditions today particularly early and most of the day ahead of the freshening sea breeze, with winds north to northeasterly about 10 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots in the late afternoon with seas around 1 metre.

Tomorrow's, looking choppy to rough as winds will be northerly 15 to 20 knots increasing to 20 to 30 knots during the afternoon then tending northwesterly during the evening with seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres during the afternoon or evening. So be ready to go! My mate Jason Milne from Viking Kayaks Fishing report yesterday- Snapper out there under the bait balls today at Mudjimba, took my white zman off the bottom after dropping through the bait - plenty of bird action with spotty mackerel and small Bonito visible on surface - moving fast and gone quick after short bust ups. Shut down by 8am after boats started arriving from Coolum to Maroochydore- Today Saturday is looking mint weather in the morning so get out early before all the boat traffic shuts them down, they’re both in close and out wide as you dare. We went 2km behind the island but found as many bait balls inside and close to the island. With North and Chardon's Reefs having tusk fish, spangled emperor, pearl perch, snapper, grass emperor and gold spot cod. Snapper, coral trout, moses perch and maori cod from Sunshine Reef.
