Local Fishing Report: Monday 2019-06-10


It's looking like great offshore fishing conditions all week if you can pull a day off to wet a line it will be well worth your while. Winds will be south to southeasterly at about 10 knots, with seas below 1m and 1-1.5m of southerly swell easing to 1m duignt he moring. North Reef has also had good snapper, sweetlip, Moses perch, cobia, tusk fish and gold band snapper. Sunshine Reef has had coral trout, snapper, spanish mackerel and a few good sweetlip. Mac tuna and Spanish mackerel around the Blinker. A few good cobia, snapper, sweetlip, school and spotty mackerel from Currimundi Reef and the Caloundra 5 and 9 mile reefs.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Noosa North Shore has had a few tailor, bream and whiting. Mangrove jack and flathead from the Tewantin Stretch. Flathead, the odd tailor, golden trevally and bream around the river mouth. Queenies to 65cm and trevally in the Woods Bay and the Tewantin Reach. Whiting throughout the lower river and upstream in the lakes.

Maroochydore: School jew, tarwhine and bream from Point Arkwright. Quality bream in the Maroochy south channel around all the structures and a 40cm bream was caught near Fisherman's Road bridge yesterday.Tailor and trevally around the Cod Hole early in the morning. Flathead from the creek mouths.

Mooloolaba: Bream and small snapper from Point Cartwright. Flathead in the creeks and canals. Plenty of bream, particularly at night and trevally from around the boat moorings and throughout the lower river.

Caloundra; Bream and flathead along Golden Beach. Bream, school jew and tailor from Shelly Beach. A few flathead, trevally and bream through the Passage. Trevally and bream in Pelican Waters.

Matt Fountain 45cm School Jew 

Check out young Matt Fountain with a 45cm school jew that he caught and released off the rocks at Point Arkwright yesterday while fishing with his family.
