Local Fishing Report: Monday 2019-07-01

Offshore Caution, with the solid swells today and take care on coastal bar crossings and in offshore waters. Today winds will be south to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots through the morning. Inshore winds tending south to southwesterly in the morning and early afternoon with seas below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning and still a very solid swell of easterly 2 to 3 metres. Improving and easing conditions tomorrow with winds Southeasterly 15 to 20 knots. Winds inshore tending south to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots, turning southeasterly around midday and seas 1.5 metres. When conditions improve be ready to go to chase a few good snapper, as it looks like we are in for a great Winter snapper Season. North Reefs has had a few good catches of Moses perch, pearl perch, venus tusk fish, snapper and sweetlip. Sunshine Reef has had spanish mackerel, coral trout, snapper and a few good sweetlip. Chardon's Reef's had, Maori cod, pearl perch, Moses perch, good snapper, venus tusk fish, hussar and painted sweetlip. Big snapper, venus tusk fish, gold spot wrasse, hussar and a beautiful parrot form the Hards. Snapper and tusk fish from Mooloolaba 8 mile. Spanish mackerel, snapper and tuskfish around the Blinker. Snapper and sweetlip from Brays Rock. Snapper and mackerel from Caloundra 12 mile.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Try for luderick from the carpark rocks also flathead, tailor, trevally and bream in the river mouth. A plenty of quality dusky flathead to 60 cm, with some released, queenfish and bream along the Tewantin Stretch. Trevally and whiting in Woods Bays.

Maroochydore: A few big whiting to 40cm from Chambers Island, black banks and in Maroochy Waters Canal. A few good flathead to 60cm on soft plastics in Maroochy Waters. Good bream and flathead from Picnic Point. Mud crabs int he middle river.

Mooloolaba: Gar at La Balsa sand basin. Flathead and cod from the Twin bridges. Bream around the boat moorings and along the La Balsa stretch.

Caloundra: Luderick from the Boardwalk. Bream and flathead from Military Jetty. Queenfish and trevally in Pelican Waters. Mud crabs in the northern passage. Whiting and bream in Currimundi Lake.
