Local Fishing Report: Saturday 2019-07-27

Offshore: More great conditions with winds West to northwesterly about 10 knots becoming north to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.with seas below 1 metre. Tomorrow will have excellent conditions but could be a bit choppy after the change in the afternoon with wind West to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots, with a southeasterly change moving through during the morning or early afternoon. Winds reaching 15 to 20 knots at times with and behind the change, and seas around 1 metre. Wild Thing 2 skipper Nat Turner fished the top of North Reef and The Hill where they caught caught cobia, moses perch, snapper, grass sweetlip and teraglin jewfish. Sunshine Reef's producing venus tusk fish, monacle bream, good snapper, coral bream, grass emperor and Moses perch Deep End Fishing Charters out of Mooloolaba have had good trips to local reefs for plenty of quality snapper, grassy sweetlip, pearlies, tusk fish and cobia. Grass sweetlip, cod and qualitysnapper from the Gneerings. Good quality snapper, pearl perch and tusk fish from the Banks.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Try for luderick at the rocks inside the river mouth. Double Island Point gutters are producing greenback tailor to 3.5kg. Bream and flathead and plenty of diamond trevally taken throughout the lower river and up around Tewantin. Good quality Golden and Diamond Trevally in Woods Bays. Trevally and still a few mangrove jack from Munna Point.

Maroochydore: Several big giant trevally caught near the Cod Hole. Bream and whiting in the mouth of Eudlo Creek as well as tailor and trevally to 65cm from Cod Hole. Quality bream upstream from the Cod Hole and the lower river. Flathead to 78cm released from the Creek mouths and lower river.

Mooloolaba: Tailor, bream and worth a try for luderick as well of the rock walls. A few gar fish around the moorings on the incoming tide. Bream and several dusky flathead and golden trevally from the boat moorings and canals. Cod and flathead from the twin bridges.

Caloundra: Luderick and bream off the Boardwalk. Cod and flathead in Coochin Creek. Bream in the deeper holes and channels of the passage. School jew in the deeper holes of the passage. Bream and trevally in Pelican Waters. Small snapper and sweetlip off the rocky headlands.

Davie had a fish with Matt Planck in the Maroochy River Wednesday, trolling the Trollcraft Pelagic,(in store) red head silver body lure which did the job for him with a 58cm and 55cm GT.
