Local Fishing Report: Thursday 2019-07-25

Offshore: More great conditions but could be a bit choppy at times with winds Southwesterly 10 to 15 knots turning southeasterly during the morning. Winds reaching up to 20 knots at times during the morning with seas around 1 metre. Tomorrow will have excellent conditions with wind southeasterly 10 to 15 knots becoming variable below 10 knots during the late morning, then tending east to northeasterly about 10 knots in the afternoon. Inshore winds tending south to southwesterly about 10 knots in the morning, tending east to northeasterly below 10 knots in the afternoon, then turning west to northwesterly in the evening and seas around 1 metre. Wild Thing 2 skipper Nat Turner fished the top of North Reef and The Hill where they caught caught cobia, moses perch, snapper, grass sweetlip and teraglin jewfish. North Reef has had pearl perch, maori cod, gold spot cod and quality cobia. Deep End Fishing Charters out of Mooloolaba have had good trips to local reefs for plenty of quality snapper, grassy sweetlip, pearlies, tusk fish and cobia. Grass sweetlip, cod and qualitysnapper from the Gneerings. Good quality snapper, pearl perch and tusk fish from the Banks.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Luderick at the rocks inside the river mouth. Bream and flathead and plenty of diamond trevally taken throughout the lower river and up around Tewantin. Golden and Diamond Trvally in Woods Bays. Trevally and still a few mangrove jack from Munna Point.

Maroochydore: Several big giant trevally caught near the Cod Hole yesterday. Bream and whiting in the mouth of Eudlo Creek as well as tailor and trevally to 65cm from Cod Hole. Quality bream upstream from the Cod Hole and the lower river. Flathead to 78cm released from the Creek mouths and lower river.

Mooloolaba: Tailor, bream and worth a try for luderick as well of the rock walls. A few gar fish around the moorings on the incoming tide. Bream and several dusky flathead and golden trevally from the boat moorings and canals. Cod and flathead from the twin bridges.

Caloundra: Luderick and bream off the Boardwalk. Cod and flathead in Coochin Creek. Bream in the deeper holes and channels of the passage. School jew in the deeper holes of the passage. Bream and trevally in Pelican Waters. Small snapper and sweetlip off the rocky headlands.
