Local Fishing Report: Thursday 2019-09-26

Offshore: Winds will be Northeasterly at 10 to 15 knots, with seas and swell around the 1 metre mark.

North Reef had cobia, jewfish, pearl perch, Moses perch and venus tusk fish. Sunshine Reef had good snapper, tusk fish, Moses perch, bonito, longtail tuna, grass emperor and school mackerel. Grass sweetlip and small snapper from Old Women Island. Long tail tuna, cod, sweetlip and tusk fish from Coolum. Pearl perch, snapper, tusk fish from Caloundra 12 mile. Quality snapper from the Blinker.

The Caloundra Powerboat Fishing Club is again holding its annual Take-A-Kid-Fishing Day on 29 September at Golden Beach. Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Trevally and mangrove jack in Woods Bays. Quality whiting in good numbers throughout the lower river. Flathead from the entrance of the lakes. Flathead from the river mouth and frying pan.

Maroochydore: Whiting throughout the lower river. Big trevally to 60cm from the cod hole and in Maroochy Waters Canal. Mangrove jack in the creeks and upper river. Trevally and flathead in Eudlo Creek.

Mooloolaba: Whiting from Mountain Creek and the La Balsa sand basin. Bream, cod and trevally from the boat moorings. Cod, mangrove jack and flathead from the twin bridges. Flathead and trevally in Mooloolaba Canals.

Caloundra: Cod, jack, flathead and the odd mud crab in Coochin Creek. Big flathead between the bar and golden beach. Elbow slapper whiting throughout the northern passage. Trevally, cod and mangrove jack in Pelican Waters.

Bailey Dando Whiting 

Bailey Dando hire a boat yesterday and was working his micro mullet lure on the flats in the lower Maroochy River when he caught and released this nice whiting.
