Offshore: Choppy conditions early today with winds east to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots in the late afternoon or evening with seas 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to 1 metre by early evening. Tomorrow will improve particularly by the afternoon with winds east to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots tending east to northeasterly about 10 knots in the late afternoon and seas around 1 metre. So be ready to go for snapper, venus tusk fish and amberjack out from Rainbow Beach. Katie Whelan fished Laguna Bay early morning on Sunday for two nice squire and a cracking 13kg cobia. The cobia took a lightly weighted pilly and fought hard. Cobia and grass sweetlip from Jew Shoal. North Reef had cobia, jewfish, pearl perch, Moses perch and venus tusk fish. Sunshine Reef had good snapper, tusk fish, Moses perch, bonito, longtail tuna, grass emperor and school mackerel. Cod, sweetlip, snapper and tusk fish from Coolum. Pearl perch, snapper, tusk fish and tuna from Caloundra 12 mile.

Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Noosa River Fishing Safaris released a 39cm bream and a 55cm queenie in the lower reaches, there's also a few good trevally in Woods Bay Quality whiting in good numbers throughout the lower river. Flathead, queenfish and bream between the lakes. Flathead from the river mouth and frying pan.

Maroochydore: After the storms and rainfall be ready to go crabbing. Bream and quality flathead from the river mouth. Big flathead in the middle river. Flathead, bream and trevally under the motorway bridge. Whiting throughout the lower river. Mangrove jack in the creeks and upper river. Trevally and flathead up Eudlo Creek.

Mooloolaba: Mangrove jack in the Bightwater canal. Whiting from Mountain Creek and the La Balsa sand basin. Bream, cod and trevally from the boat moorings. Cod, mangrove jack and flathead from the twin bridges. Flathead and trevally in Mooloolaba Canals.

Caloundra: Cod, jack, flathead and the odd mud crab in Coochin Creek. Big flathead between the bar and golden beach. Elbow slapper whiting throughout the northern passage. Trevally, cod and mangrove jack in Pelican Waters. Few mud crabs in the creeks that flow into the Passage.
