Local Fishing Report: Tuesday 2014-11-11

Offshore

Winds will be north to northeasterly 10 knots. Seas below 1 metre. There’s been  mahi mahi, school mackerel, yellowtail king fish, wahoo and amberjack from Caloundra 12 mile. Gold band snapper, big tusk fish, an 11kg amberjack, wahoo, cod, yellowtail king fish, mahi mahi and pearl perch from the Barwon Banks. Quality cobia from Luguna Bay.Yellowtail king and school mackerel on Currimundi Reef. Grass sweetlip and small snapper on the gneerings.  School mackerel at Caloundra 12 Mile.

Estuaries

Noosa: Flathead, bream, good whiting and trevally near the river mouth and in the Sound. Whiting in the frying pan and opposite munna Point. Tailor, cod and trevally in Woods Bay on sun set. Jack and trevally in Weyba Creek. A few jacks and school jew in between the lakes.

Maroochydore: There's been Flathead, bream and jacks from Dunethin Rock and Petrie Creek. The odd queenfish, flathead and bream from around the Twin Waters area. Big jack and the odd big trevally in and around the Cod Hole. Whiting in the lower river. Flathead and trevally from Bli Bli Islands. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Kawana: Dart and whiting at first light along the Kawana-Wurtulla stretch of beach in the gutters. Bream and whiting in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah River. Flathead and mangrove jack in Kawana Canals and in Mountain Creek. Golden trevally around Minyama island. Giant trevally and School jew around McKenzies Bridge. Plenty of bream from the moorings.

Caloundra: Flathead, whiting and bream in Currimundi Lake. Whiting inside the bar, on the NE tip of Bribie Island and along Golden Beach. Flathead and bream off the boardwalk. Mangrove jack and trevally in Pelican Waters and in Coochin Creek. A few sand crabs throughout Pumicestone Passage.

Offshore

Looking good today, but with a bit of easterly chop, winds to be east to southeasterly about 10 knots. Swell and seas easterly around 1 metre.  Mahi mahi, yellowtail king fish, wahoo and amberjack from Caloundra 12 mile.  Yellowtail king fish, mahi mahi and pearl perch from the Barwon Banks. Rat yellowtail king and school mackerel on Currimundi Reef. Grass sweetlip and small snapper on the gneerings.

Estuaries

Noosa: Yesterdays Full Moon phase will have fish feeding. Flathead and trevally on the current line at dawn and dusk near the river mouth and in the Sound. Whiting in the frying pan and opposite munna Point. Tailor and trevally in Woods Bay on sun set. Jacks and trevally in Weyba Creek. A few jacks and school jew in between the lakes.

Maroochydore: The water is exceptionally clear and clean at present, so fish light, cast out wide and fish dawn, dusk and at night for best results. Yesterday there were big schools of herring bait fish around Chambers Island. There's been Flathead, bream and jacks from Dunethin Rock. The odd queenfish, flathead and bream from around the Twin Waters area. Estuary cod, bream, flathead and trevally in the Cod Hole. Whiting in the lower river. Flathead and trevally from Bli Bli Islands. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.
