Strong winds, big seas and swell have made offshore waters unsafe for boating
Noosa: The odd big tailor and trevally from the river mouth. Trevally and flathead in Woods Bays. Big bream to 40cm from the Marina and the river mouth. A few mud crabs throughout Noosa Waters canals, in Weyba Creek and between the lakes.
Maroochydore: Quality bream up to 1kg and elbow slapper whiting in the lower river. Flathead relased to 80cm form Eudlo Creek and good catches of 40-50cm from Picnic Point. Whiting and flathead around Picnic Pt and in the canals. Mud crabs on the ebb tide from Bli Bli and Petrie Creek.
Kawana: Bream to 1.3kg around the mooring on the ebb tide over night. Bream and a few tailor around the high tide from the rock wall. Whiting and flathead in sand basin. Mud crabs in the canals and around Kawana Way.
Caloundra: Bream, grunter, flathead and whiting on the banks opposite Golden Beach. Whiting and bream in Currimundi Lake. Flathead from the NW tip of Bribie Island, Military Jetty and Coochin Creek.

Nic Culverhouse is at it again with a solid 1m estuary cod from Caloundra mile reef on a recent trip.
Winds are S/SW 10-20knots, increasing up to 30knotsin the afternoon. Seas will be 1m increasing in the afternoon and the swell is still 2-3m in open waters.

Kawana: Bream and tailor at night off the rocks walls and the moorings. Whiting, sand crabs and flathead in sand basin. Giant trevally around the twin bridges. Mud crabs in the canals.

Nic Culverhouse caught a good feed of yellow fin bream on the dirt water line over night from the lower river.
Conditions beginning to settle a little, but still fairly unstable for small craft, with winds southerly 15 to 20 knots today and seas 1 to 2 metres.
Noosa: With todays New Moon phase, and a run of fresh water in the systems it will be better to fish the lower reaches particularly where the dirty water meets the incoming sea water. Sharky (Tony) Schembri targeting Australian Bass in Lake Mc Donald recently. The closure still applies to tidal waters only, until Monday, 1 September 2014. Fishers can continue to target and keep Australian bass caught in non-tidal waters.
