Local Fishing Report: Sunday 2013-04-21

Noosa: Good coral trout on sunshine reef and Spanish mackerel on close inshore reefs. School jew along the Tewantin reach, remember . Flathead near the sand pumping station. Whiting in the lower river on bait and poppers. Bream from the Rock wall at the mouth and around Munna Bridge.

Maroochydore: Grass sweetlip and small snapper around Old Women Island and on the Gneerings. Jew and big mangrove jack in the middle reaches yesterday.Fathead to 64cm at Cottontree and near Twin Waters. Whiting throughout the lower river. Bream around the mouth. Mud crabs in the middle and upper river.

Kawana: The wind could pick up today so get out early and keep your eye on the forecast. Coral trout and grass sweetlip on the gneerings. Bream and trevally along the La Balsa Park reach of the Mooloolah River and mud crabs moving throughout. Worth a try for whiting, jew and a few bream in gutters along the beach's. Bream from the moorings.

Caloundra: Flathead inside Caloundra Bar. Bream in the Blue Hole. Jew on the high tide off the tip of Bribie Island and in the channel out from Military Jetty. Mud crabs and grunter bream along the Coochin Stretch.

Paul, from Australian Boating College took time out on his jet ski and brought home a quality Spanish Mackerel from Caloundra 9 Mile.

The crews on Odyssey Deep Sea Fishing Charters ventured out of Mooloolaba yesterday for a few good snapper!

Josh, Jake & BJ were fishing in their boat over night close to Chambers Island when they caught this 3kg mangrove jack.

Local Fishing Report: Tuesday 2013-04-16

Noosa: The next couple of days could be OK offshore for snapper, tuna and mackerel early morning ahead of the afternoon sea breeze. School jew along the Tewantin reach. Whiting, bream and flathead inside the bar. Grunter bream, bream, cod, flathead and mangrove jack in Weyba Creek.

Maroochydore: The river water is still very dirty on low tide, with fish feeding on the sandbanks under cover of the dirty water. A 60cm dusky flathead near the entrance to Maroochy Waters canal Big whiting yesterday to 39cm off the sand banks on the northern side of Chambers Island. Flathead, whiting and bream to 34cm between Chambers Island and Cotton Tree. Mud crabs in the creeks and throughout the river.

Kawana: Bream and trevally along the La Balsa Park reach of the Mooloolah River and mud crabs moving throughout. Worth a try for whiting, jew and a few bream in gutters along the beach's. Bream, trevally and a few gar around the moorings and along La Balsa Park. Good mud crab in Mountain Creek.

Caloundra: Worth fishing offshore early morning over the next few days. Flathead, the odd tailor and jew inside Caloundra Bar. Bream in the Blue Hole. There's been the odd queenfish around Military Jetty also try for trevally and queenfish in the Pelican Waters canals. Mud crabs in the creeks.

Matty Rosin Flathead

Matty Rosin was fishing from the bank towards the start of Bradman avenue yesterday when he hooked this 60cm dusky flathead on a prawn.
