Noosa; Light winds early means get out and try for snapper, spotty and spanish mackerel and cobia on local reefs like Sunshine and North Reef. Whiting and dart off Teewah Beach Whiting, flathead and trevally in Weyba Creek. Whiting and golden trevally to 2kg in Woods bays. Mangrove jacks from Tewantin, and a few good muddies between the lakes.
Maroochydore: Good dusky flathead caught and released on the Maroochy North Shore to 80cm and 50cm in the Bli Bli area. A 2kg jack taken early yesterday morning, try in Petrie, Paynters Creek and around the motorway Bridge pylons. Been some good mud crabs taken in the middle and upper reaches.
Kawana: Light winds early means have a go for mackerel and cobia on local reefs. A few whiting and dart along Kawana Beach. Whiting from Mountain Creek. Jack in Kawana Waters and around McKenzies Bridge, Mountain Creek area. Bream on soft plastics around the moorings.
Caloundra; A few mackerel on 9 and 12 mile! There has been a few catches of golden trevally and tarpon in the top end of the passage. Trevally, jack and mud crabs in the Pelican Waters Canals and Coochin Creek. Good whiting and plenty of average flathead with quite a few quality fish to 60 and 70cm in the top end of the Passage.
Mick Robbie, had his best Christmas present ever, Yesterday morning, when he caught a 2kg Mangrove Jack in a secret spot somewhere up river , probably near Bli Bli. He was using fresh mullet fillets purchased at Swan Boat Hire.
