Local Fishing Report: Sunday 20/11/2011

Noosa: Snapper, sweetlip and the odd mackerel from Sunshine reef. Mangrove jacks from the lakes. Whiting from the mouth and the Frying Pan on live worms and nippers. Trevally and bream around the Sheraton bridge on small hard body lures during the high tide.

Maroochydore: School jew, flathead and giant trevally to 1kg in the cod hole. A Whiting in the lower reaches. Flathead around 50cm between Eudlo creek mouth and the Bli Bli bridge. Chopper tailor and flathead from the sand bags.

Kawana: Maori Cod, snapper, and spanner crabs just out from the Blinker. Whiting, dart and flathead from Kawana beach. Bream, flathead and trevally from La Balsa park. Whiting and bream from Kawana lakes. Sand crabs around the lower reaches.

Caloundra: Sweetlip and squire from Brays Rock and Currimundi Reef. Mangrove jacks from Coochin creek and from the Boardwalk on live bait. Whiting out from the powerboat club. Flathead on soft plastics around the edges of the weed banks near Bells creek.

Mark Flanagan from Brisbane was fishing aboard Angler Advantage when he caught and realeased this 48kg dusky flathead in the middle reaches of the Maroochy River.

Local Fishing Report: Saturday 19/11/2011

Noosa: Snapper, sweetlip and the odd mackerel from Sunshine reef. Mangrove jacks from the lakes. Whiting from the mouth and the Frying Pan on live worms and nippers. Trevally and bream around the Sheraton bridge on small hard body lures during the high tide.

Maroochydore: A few jew fish have been caught around the Cod hole at night on whole squid. Whiting and dart along Mudjimba beach on worms and pipis during the rising tide. A rare catch of Barramundi and a few trevally on surface lures in the upper reaches. Flathead around 50cm between Eudlo creek mouth and the Bli Bli bridge.

Kawana: Green job fish, pearl perch, sweetlip from the Barwon Banks. Whiting, dart and flathead from Kawana beach. Bream, flathead and trevally from La Balsa park. Whiting and bream from Kawana lakes. Sand crabs around the lower reaches.

Noosa: Coral trout and sweetlip from North Reef. Mangrove jacks from the lakes and in Noosa Sound on live bait. Whiting from the mouth and the Frying Pan on live worms and nippers. Flathead and trevally around the river mouth and Woods bay on soft plastics.

Maroochydore: Mangrove jacks from Coolum creek on mullet strips and live bait. Whiting and dart along Mudjimba beach on worms and pipis.  A rare catch of Barramundi on surface lures in the upper reaches. Flathead around 50cm between Eudlo creek mouth and the Bli Bli bridge.

Caloundra: Snapper, grassy sweetlip and cobia from Caloundra 12 mile. Mangrove jacks from Coochin creek and from the Boardwalk on live bait. Whiting at the mouth of Bells and out from the powerboat club on live worms and nippers.

Local Fishing Report: Thursday 17/11/2011

Noosa: Coral trout and sweetlip from North Reef. Mangrove jacks from the lakes and in Noosa Sound. Good numbers of flathead and trevally around the river mouth and Woods bay on soft plastics. Plenty of bream around the lower reaches.

Maroochydore: Mangrove jacks from Petrie Creek mouth, Coolum creek and the Cod Hole on mullet strips and live bait. Good numbers of whiting up to 30cm from the black banks and out from Picnic point. Flathead around 50cm between Eudlo creek mouth and the Bli Bli bridge.

Kawana: Spanish mackerel and school mackerel from Coolum, Inner gneerings and the Blinker. Trevally and bream from the Mooloolaba boat ramp pontoon at night. Whiting and bream from Kawana lakes. Sand crabs around the lower reaches.

Caloundra: Snapper, grassy sweetlip and cobia from Caloundra 12 mile. Mangrove jacks from Coochin creek on live bait. Whiting at the mouth of Bells on live worms and nippers. Bream and whiting on surface lures around the Bells creek boat ramp early in the morning.

Local Fishing Report: Wednesday 16/11/2011

Noosa: Coral trout and sweetlip from North Reef. Mangrove jacks from Tewantin, in between the lakes and in Noosa Sound. Good numbers of flathead and trevally around the river mouth and Woods bay on soft plastics. Plenty of bream around the lower reaches.

Maroochydore: Mangrove jacks from Petrie Creek mouth, Coolum creek and the Cod Hole on mullet strips. Good numbers of whiting up to 30cm from the black banks and out from Picnic point. Bream and a few trevally . Mud crabs in the upper reaches

Kawana: Spanish mackerel from Coolum and the Blinker. Grass sweetlip and snapper from the Inner Gneerings. Trevally and bream from the Mooloolaba boat ramp pontoon at night. Whiting and flathead from the Sand Basin at La Balsa park and off the base of the Mooloolaba spit rock wall.

Caloundra: School mackerel and grass sweetlip on the 5 mile. Flathead and bream around Military Jetty on live herring. Whiting at the mouth of Bells on live worms and nippers. Bream and whiting on surface lures around the Bells creek boat ramp early in the morning.

Sam fished the around the middle reaches of Coochin Creek for a couple of quality Mangrove jack.
